Welcome to Forsyth Island

in the Marlborough Sounds

Forsyth Island on the map of New Zealand Standing outside on the terrace of the lodge, one cannot help but be reminded of the now famous phrase "I am the king of the world!" Your eyes can wander from the islands just off the coast out onto the open sea; from densely wooded mountain ridges, impressive cliff lines and the deep blue Pacific Ocean over to the neighbouring islands. Forsyth Island, which stretches over 750 hectares, is part of a group of islands in one of the most fascinating maritime sceneries on earth - the Marlborough Sounds. The exclusive lodge "Te-Paruparu" is located on one of the emerald green mountain plateaus. The name means "the good one" and is the Maori name of the island. The beaches invite vacationers to enjoy a picnic.
